The Joyalukkas Group has donated Rs20mn to relief funds for victims of the Ockhi cyclone that severely affected the coastal areas of southern Kerala. The group donated Rs10mn each to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and the Welfare Fund instituted by the Thiruvananthapuram Archbishop. In separate functions held in Thiruvananthapuram, Joyalukkas Group chairman Joy Alukkas handed over cheques to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Archbishop Dr M Soosa Pakiam. “The gesture was the outcome of visits by representatives of the Joyalukkas Foundation to the affected areas, as instructed by Joy Alukkas, chairman, Joyalukkas Group. The foundation has also decided to help victims further if needed,” the group said yesterday. Joyalukkas Foundation, the CSR arm of the group, has been executing various social responsibility projects across India.
