Nepali community enjoys a slew of entertainment shows

Nepali community recently hosted four musical programmes at different venues in and around Doha. More than two dozen artistes from Kathmandu came to Doha to perform in these programmes that were largely attended by enthusiastic expatriates.
The event organised at Asian Town, Sanaiya was named Kumari Boom 2018 Doha Night. Nepali ambassador Prof Dr Ramesh Prasad Koirala attended the programme jointly organised by Kumari Bank and Boom Remit.
Actress Niruta Singh , a rare performer, was prominent among the list of artistes that included actress Anu Shah; stand-up comedian Jeetu Nepal; pop star Anil Singh; Shankar BC, choreographer and dancer; Rajan Raj Siwakoti, composer and singer; singer Angila Regmi; Bhojpuri singer Selina Kunwar; Maithili singer Santosh Raj; dancer Sarika Ghimire; singer Youbraj Chaulagain and folk singer Radhika Hamal.
Ambassador Koirala praised the Nepali audience and the community as a whole for earning good reputation for their honesty and hard work. He reiterated that the community duly follow the laws in Qatar and requested the community to visit the embassy to have their issues resolved. 
Ramesh Panthi, Director of Boom Remit, said he was more than happy to organise the event and that he had worked hard to arrange the programme. He was happy that the community had made it successful.
The musical event kicked off with pop singer Angila Regmi. She performed two numbers, and collaborated with Youbraj Chaulagain in one of his duets. Youbraj is one of the most popular singers among the Nepali music lovers. Anil Singh performed four songs. Singh performed for the sixth time in Qatar. Dancers Shankar B C and Sarika Ghimire presented four dance items on the tune of hit Nepali movies songs. B C has performed in more than 35 countries and has directed 2,000 music videos so far. 
Niruta Singh also performed a dance. The film actress also sang one of her best songs in the programme. She told the audience that it was her third performance in Qatar and she visited the country the last time 12 years ago.
Comedian Jeetu Nepal performed for an hour in the event. He kept on cracking jokes on Internet, migrant workers, and on Nepali politics. He said Qatar is not only a major destination of Nepali workers, but it is also an attraction for Nepali artistes as the audience here love and cherish their performances. 
He added the artistes get more chances to perform in Qatar than even in Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu itself. He noted the performances in Qatar had helped the Nepali artistes considerably in developing their careers.
Rajan Raj Siwakoti performed two songs from a movie 2 Rupees. Folk singer Radhika Hamal presented two of her songs. Actress Anu Shah performed on two dance items from her movie. She said the response of the audience in Qatar had always motivated her.
Singers Sanstosh Raj and Salina Kunwar performed Bhojpuri song together. Selina has already performed in Qatar 10 times before besides being to 10 other countries. “Qatar is my most visited country,” she said. “Some of my folks ask me whether I am bored with frequent visits to Qatar, and I answer them that Qatar is my most favourite country.”
The second programme was organised by Jhapa Contact Front (JCF) in Al Dana Club and Resort. Singer and composer Tika Bhandari and Balram Rajbanshi performed in the programme.
The third programme was organised by Myagdi Overseas Nepali Association (MONA) at Shalimar Palace. Comedy Actor Rabi Karki, actress and singer Lali Budhathoki, singer Amit Bishwokarma and dancer Ramita Bhandari performed during the programme.
Friends for Life, a social media networking group established two years ago, organised its second anniversary programme at Gulf Horizon Hotel. TV comedians Kumar Kattel and Arjun Ghimire and singer Devika K C performed in the programme. Doha-based Nepali artistes Bina Tamang, Pema Tamang, Pramila Tamang, Sangam Tamang and Chandan Bohora also performed in the programme.
