Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is ready for the holy month of Ramadan as its transmission and distribution networks of electricity and water, water pumping stations and filling tanks stand ready to ensure continuity of service, meet customers’ demand and achieve Kahramaa mission in securing services in a sustainable and high-quality manner.
In a statement, Kahramaa said that its electricity network department completed all the regular maintenance work of its main and secondary transmission stations and secondary feeding stations and control centers, through several maintenance workshops to secure and enhance the continuity of electricity supply without interruption during peak times. This is especially in some important installations in the state, such as mosques in order to meet any expected increase of loads due to the increasing demand for electricity.
It also stressed the readiness of all technical teams round-the-clock to intervene quickly to address faults in a record time to reduce service interruption quickly and professionally. Kahramaa’s water network services have completed all regular maintenance of water pumping stations and tanks, as well as water transmission and distribution networks, as well as maintaining the country’s strategic stock at its highest level before the beginning of the summer.
The corporation pointed out that it will receive customers at its service centres during Ramadan from 9.30am to 1.30pm, Sunday to Thursday.
QIB announces working hours at branches
Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has announced that 16 of its branches will have extended working hours during the holy month of Ramadan.
Regular QIB branches will open from Sunday until Thursday, from 9am to 2pm, the bank has said in a statement.
In addition, the Al Fanar, Salwa Road, Al Rayyan, Airport Road, Al Sadd, Al Wakrah and Al Khor branches and the C-Ring Road Service Centre will open during the evening shift from Sunday until Wednesday, from 9pm to 11.30pm, and on Saturday from 9am to 12noon.
The Hamad International Airport branch will remain open non-stop, round the clock to serve customers.
QIB mall branches will operate from Saturday until Thursday, from 10.30am to 2.30pm and from 9pm to 11.30pm, and on Friday from 9pm to 11.30pm. These include QIB branches at Dar Al Salam Mall, Doha Festival City, Al Gharafa (Q-Mall), City Center, Mall of Qatar, The Gate Mall, Tawar Mall and The Pearl-Qatar (Medina Centrale).
The extended working hours will provide QIB customers with an “easily accessible and convenient banking experience throughout the holy month of Ramadan”, the statement notes. In addition, the bank’s services are available 24/7 through QIB’s Internet and QIB Mobile App, the QIB Call Centre (44448444), Interactive Teller Machines (Live Teller) and more than 170 ATMs and Cash Deposit machines spread across the country.
Ramadan timing for Medical Commission
The Ministry of Public Health yesterday announced that the Medical Commission will be open for the public, during Ramadan, from 9am to 6pm.
Birth registration offices will receive applications for newborns registration and birth certificates in two periods - the first period extends from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at Al Khor Hospital, Al Wakra Hospital, Cuban Hospital in Dukhan, Doha Clinic Hospital, Al Ahli Hospital, Al Emadi Hospital and Sidra Medical, while the second is between 2pm to 5pm at Al Ahli Hospital, Sidra Medical and Doha Clinic Hospital.
Working hours at Justice Ministry: The Ministry of Justice said that the working hours of the offices in the Public Service Complexes will be from 9am to 5pm.
The main office and public reception centre at the Doha Convention and Exhibition Centre will open from 9am to 2pm.
