Mutaz Essa Barshim of Qatar won the men’s high jump event of the 57th Golden Spike, an IAAF World Challenge Meeting, in Ostrava yesterday. Barshim won with a 2.38m effort and set a new meet record. Russian Danil Lysenko, taking part as an Authorised Neutral Athlete (ANA), was second with a jump of 2.36m, while Syria’s Ghazal Majed El Dein was third with 2.25m.
