The Organising Committee of the Qatar National Day (QND) celebrations unveiled on Wednesday the activities, which will take place from December 12 to 20.
Thousands of people, many of them tourists, thronged the Champs Elysées avenue to watch the march past involving 4,290 soldiers, 220 vehicles, 250 horses, 64 jets and 30 helicopters.
The day marks the passing of the historic resolution — also referred to as the ‘Pakistan Resolution’ — on March 23, 1940 in Lahore’s Minto Park — that laid the basis for the creation of an independent state.
