Shop Qatar’s third edition will feature the ‘Design District’ for the first time - a hub for the festival’s fashion-forward events and activities, the National Tourism Council has announced.
A six-day National Day Trade Festival, running from December 15-20, will mark the start of Shop Qatar’s third edition, offering QR3mn worth of cash and car prizes, and an array of discounts for shoppers, it was announced.
Qataris served as guides for the tours, categorised for men, women and families, taking participants to “an authentic and culture-filled” stroll to explore Souq Waqif.
The shopping festival has partnered with more than 100 budding entrepreneurs and local businesses to provide a platform that will bring them closer to customers and broaden their market reach.
Some 15 outfits highlighting Spanish fashion and culture will take centre stage on Wednesday at Shop Qatar’s “International Fashion Show” at Mondrian Doha.
“It is looking great, we are seeing more people here, from Kuwait and Oman, and other international visitors due to the new visa policies,” noted Alshaima al-Shaikh, head of tourism events at QTA.
