Doha Municipality Health Control Section has spotted a number of food facilities and outlets keeping expired food products as part of its inspection campaign within the municipality.
The inspectors of the section spotted expired meat products in a bakery at Al Markhiya Area, expired food substances used in preparing pastry and sweets at a bakery at Musherib Area, expired food products at a grocery at Madinat Khalifa South, and other products at a shop at the same area.
Also, a restaurant at Umm Lakhbah Area was spotted using expired meats, chicken, fish, and vegetables in preparing its meals. At Old AlGhanim Area, a café was spotted keeping expired food products. All the necessary legal procedures were taken against the violating outlets. Doha Municipality's unit for fighting rodents and insects carried out 18,614 requests to fight pest menace within Doha during 2016. The requests covered private and government entities, in addition to various public facilities.
