The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has conducted a comprehensive cleanup campaign at Al Thakhira beach.
During the campaign, 18 tonnes of gravel were removed in the first stage and the beach was covered with a layer of soft sand in 92 batches, amounting to 882 tonnes.
Safar Mubarak al-Shafi, director of the MME's General Cleanliness Department, said the campaign came as part of the ministry's keenness to revamp Qatar's beach entertainment facilities for the country's inhabitants.
