The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced that it will close part of Salwa Road at Rawdat Rashed Interchange, in the lanes leading to Doha, from August 31.
The diversion, implemented in co-ordination with the General Directorate of Traffic, will be in place for six months.
During this period, traffic on the closed part of Salwa Road will be diverted to the opposite side of the road, which will include two lanes for traffic heading to Doha and another two lanes heading to Abu Samra, as shown on the attached map.
The closure aims to enable construction works for a new bridge parallel to the existing bridge at Rawdat Rashed Interchange, in order to accommodate traffic heading to Rawdat Rashed Road, Ashghal has said in a statement. This is part of the fourth phase of the Rawdat Rashed Road Development Project implemented by the authority.
Ashghal will instal road signs advising motorists of the diversion, and has requested all road users to abide by the speed limit and follow road signs to ensure their safety.
