Aspetar, Qatar’s orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, recently welcomed a medical delegation from Chile for a four-day visit to initiate and verify the integration of world-class medical education and comprehensive training while establishing prominent medical outcomes.
The delegation of six renowned Chilean surgeons, physiotherapists and physicians participated in a detailed programme with Aspetar’s team of experts to witness the sports medical care services the hospital provides to its athletes.
Dr Alejandro Orizolo Molina from the Chilean Olympic committee, said; “Our visit shines a spotlight on building knowledge and studying recommended medical approaches to assist athletes. The medical care services offered here make Aspetar globally recognised as it utilises advanced equipment and attains international accreditation.”
The Chilean delegation praised Aspetar for enabling athletes to perform at their best and said their visit had inspired them to implement positive changes, a press statement noted.
As part of its efforts to prevent injuries and ensure that athletes are fit to compete at their highest performance level, Aspetar also offers customised treatment solutions. In addition, professional and recreational athletes can use Aspetar’s "state-of-the-art" facilities, designed to treat patients from all over the world.
"These experiences help Aspetar further develop its innovative medical practices and research help medical practitioners better understand the main concepts behind injuries and develop preventative methods, which originates from Aspetar’s vision: to be a global leader in sports medicine and exercise science by 2020," the statement adds.
