US Senator Joe Wilson said that the United States and Qatar are determined to strengthen their partnership in achieving security, combating terrorism and violent extremism and eliminating them.
During his speech to Congress, Wilson said the US and Qatar have completed their second strategic dialogue this month. “The US Department of State announced the achievements made by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on the matter,” he added.
Wilson said the strategic dialogue between the US and Qatar has highlighted the strength of promoting relations to deepen co-operation for the benefit of both countries.
The Senator said the US welcomed the Qatari generous offer to expand the vital facilities used by the US in Qatar, which allows the expansion of Al Udeid Air Base.
He reaffirmed that the US support will continue to maintain the unity of the GCC and create a safe and prosperous future in the region. “The US allies in the GCC must work together to resolve their differences in order to achieve success and safety in the region,” he added. (QNA)
