The Al Bayt – Al Khor City Stadium, a designated FIFA World Cup 2022 venue is on the verge of completion, the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) said on Friday.
"Al Bayt Stadium – Al Khor City Stadium is looking incredible! The stadium field of play turf installation was recently completed, the retractable roof system testing and commissioning underway and more than 53,000 seats have been installed," the SC tweeted on Friday.
The stadium takes its name from bayt al sha'ar – tents historically used by nomadic peoples in Qatar and the Gulf region. In common with Qatar's famously hospitable people, Al Bayt Stadium – Al Khor City will welcome guests from far and wide, entertaining them and inviting them to experience the country's traditional culture.
