Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section has carried out an inspection campaign at shops, particularly outlets selling sweets and nuts, across the municipality on the occasion of Garangao.
The campaign has been conducted with the aim of ensuring that sweets, nuts and other food items available in the local market are safe for human consumption, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has said in a statement.
Accordingly, the section has urged consumers to check the production and expiry dates of the purchased packages as well as their contents. Besides, inspection teams have stressed that all products available in the local market are checked and tested by the departments concerned before they reach consumers to guarantee that these are safe — right from their source country until their display in Qatar’s stores for sale.
The inspection campaign also covered storage facilities and means of transport to ensure that the products were dealt with properly and in accordance with the approved regulations.
Similarly, Al Daayen Municipality’s Health Control Section has implemented an inspection campaign at various outlets selling sweets and nuts to ensure their safety for human consumption.
The inspectors focused on the expiry dates and whether the products on display complied with the approved standards, the MME said.
Meanwhile, Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s Health Control Section has continued with its intensive inspection campaign at food outlets as well as Ramadan Iftar tents to guarantee the health and safety of food products available there.
