The Chinese ambassador to Qatar Zhou Jian hosted Friday a reception for the Chinese expatriate community to get introduced to them and greet them on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
"Since I started my post as the Chinese ambassador to Qatar, I have always wanted to meet and chat with you. I convey the cordial greetings and best wishes from the Chinese Government, the Communist Party and the 1.4bn Chinese people," he told the gathering.
The envoy told them about the deep rooted Qatar-China friendship, stressing his commitment to make this go on forever. Having completed almost one month in Qatar, he expressed his satisfaction about the vastly developing bilateral relations in different fields.
"Over the previous month, I visited places where many Chinese are striving for their dreams. In my eyes are builders sweating at construction sites of the Lusail Stadium; engineers advancing 5G construction along with their Qatari peers, students studying hard in schools and universities… All of you are working diligently in different areas and positions, realising your own dreams of lives while contributing to bilateral relations," he told the Chinese community.
"Today, we are in a new era. China is approaching the goal of achieving national rejuvenation, and China-Qatar relationship is ushering in great opportunities. Let us roll up our sleeves and forge ahead with joint efforts, to make new contributions to the prosperity and development of our great motherland and bilateral relations," he said urging every one to "actively integrate into Qatar and become a contributor to the local economic and social development."
