HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani on Thursday held in New York meetings with Foreign Minister of Pakistan Shah Mehmood Qureshi; European Union's Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos; Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov; Foreign Minister of Argentina Jorge Faurie; Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Gebran Bassil; Norway Foreign Minister Ine Eriksen; and Foreign Minister of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis, on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The meetings dealt with bilateral relations and means to bolster them in addition to a number of regional and international issues of common concern. HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani also met with Norway's special envoy for the Middle East peace process Tor Wennesland on the sidelines of UNGA.
During the meeting they reviewed ways to promote co-operation and a number of regional topics. In addition, they reviewed issues of common interest.
