HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani met on Sunday with Secretary-General of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Sharon Barrow, on the occasion of her visit to the country.
At the beginning of the meeting, the ITUC Secretary-General praised the ongoing legislative and executive measures being undertaken by Qatar in the development of labour rights protection systems in accordance with the highest international standards. For his part, HE the Prime Minister reiterated Qatar's keenness and commitment to international standards of labour and workers, and the development of its mechanisms.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on areas of co-operation between Qatar and ITUC and ways of supporting and developing them in addition to discussing a host of topics of mutual interest.
