The Qatari-European Friendship Association in the European Parliament was established in Brussels yesterday.
The association held its first meeting yesterday at the European Parliament, chaired by Qatar’s ambassador to Belgium and Head of Mission of Qatar to the EU, Abdulrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi, and the elected President of the Association and MP of the European Parliament for the People’s Party Christian Silvio Bossoa.
Delivering a speech on the occasion, Silvio Bossa stressed that the association will work to strengthen relations between Qatar and the European Parliament.
Ambassador al-Khulaifi, in his speech, welcomed the deputies who joined the association, explaining that it will work to develop relations between Qatar and the European Parliament.
He stressed the importance of parliamentary diplomatic work in general, noting the level of co-operation and the growing development of relations between Qatar and the European Union.
The ambassador touched on the achievements of Qatar over the past years in various fields, whether in the field of natural gas or in the areas of foreign investment and sports, and in the field of politics. – QNA
