Road safety, mobility experts to attend Mowasalat event

The theme of the three-day event is ‘Ensuring safe mobility of people and goods during major events in Qatar.’

Mowasalat will host the annual event on road safety starting on November 26 at the Traffic Department Auditorium.  
The theme of the three-day event is ‘Ensuring safe mobility of people and goods during major events in Qatar.’
The event is held under the patronage of HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti, in collaboration with International Road Transport Union (IRU), the National Safety Committee and Traffic Department.  
National and international road safety and mobility experts and practitioners covering the latest innovations on education, governance and engineering dealing with road and vehicles will attend the event. 
On the first day, a seminar will cover national safety vision, policies, mobility challenges for 2022 FIFA World Cup, industry trends and innovative solutions.  
The second day will host a workshop on government challenges in enabling safe mobility, developments and the latest industry standards in transporting dangerous goods. 
It will end with the ‘Youth Forum’ addressing career prospects in the road transport and logistics industry and driving the talent management sector which provides abundant career and business opportunities.  
The third day will witness a technical visit to the Hamad Port where the phenomenal progress and development, adaptation of industry best practices and innovation will be explained to the visitors.
“This programme will help the road transport industry and ensure driver education and professionalisation as key to improving road transport sector, road safety and deliver major events in Qatar successfully,” said Fahad al-Qahtani chief executive officer, Mowasalat.

Capt Abdulla Mohamed al-Khanji, chief executive officer, Mwani Qatar, said that they are honoured to be the gold sponsor of the important event which comes at a time when Qatar is preparing to host a number of major events, the most important of which is the 2022 FIFA World Cup. 
“The outcome of the conference will undoubtedly be beneficial to all operators in this field and will have a major role to play in the success of these important events. Khaled Kafoud, media and government relations manager, said the event includes very interesting sessions with renowned speakers who will engage in discussions and present vital statistics and information very useful in the related fields of industry.  
The IRU Academy works on achieving sustainable development, easing of road transport all over the world and linking the transport sector with other sectors. It also works to exchange knowledge through the display of innovations, technologies, and the broad range of discoveries in the transport sector with regards to job opportunities, while identifying new transport projects.
