A state of atmospheric instability will affect the country in the coming days, the Qatar Met department has said.
Easterly moderate to fresh winds will begin blowing on Friday and the weather will gradually become partly cloudy to cloudy. There is a chance of scattered rain, mostly light to moderate in intensity, which may turn thundery at times in some areas.
The chances of rain are expected to improve from Sunday until December 17, the weather report says. During this period, conditions will be favourable for rain of variable intensity, becoming thundery occasionally in some areas.
The Met department has urged people to avoid marine activities during this period as the wave height is expected to exceed 8ft during thunderstorms. The department has advised them to take extra care during thunderstorms, which may be accompanied by strong winds, low visibility and hail at times, as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
Meanwhile, Friday's forecast says thundery rain and strong winds are expected at times. Similar conditions are likely in offshore areas, too, along with high seas.
The wind speed may go up to 25 knots inshore and 23 knots offshore during thundershowers, with the sea level rising to 7ft.
The temperature is expected to range from 15C to 26C around the country on Friday. In Doha, the minimum and maximum temperature will be 19C and 26C, respectively, the forecast shows.
