HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud met on Tuesday Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) president Gabriela Barron, on the sidelines of a session at the United Nations headquarters in New York, held under the title (Education as a Key to Peace and Sustainable Development: Toward the Implementation of SDG 4).
During the meeting, they reviewed relations between the Shura Council and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, as well as issues of mutual interest, especially with regard to co-operation in the parliamentary and legislative areas.
The Shura Council Speaker also met Inter-Parliamentary Union secretary general Martin Chungong on the sidelines of the parliamentary hearing which concluded in New York on Tuesday.
During the meeting, they reviewed the parliamentary co-operation between the Shura Council and the IPU, and ways of developing it.
