Cabinet praises outcome of Amir’s 3-nation tour

The Cabinet’s regular meeting, chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, praised the outcome of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani’s official tour to Jordan, Tunisia and Algeria from February 23-25.
The Council affirmed that the Amir’s fruitful discussions with Jordan’s King Abdullah, Tunisia’s President Kais Saied and Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and the positive results that resulted from them, have formed further strengthened the brotherly relations that exist between Qatar and the three countries. 
In addition, the discussions opened up broad prospects for further co-operation in various fields for the benefit and welfare of the people and promoted mutual understanding on various regional and international issues, in a way that contributes to strengthening joint Arab action and preserving security, peace and stability in the region.
After the meeting, held at the Amiri Diwan, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al Jafali al-Nuaimi, announced the following:
HE the Prime Minister and the Minister of Interior instructed the ministers to include the executive plans of ministries and other government agencies, public bodies and institutions and partnership projects between the public and private sectors.
The Cabinet then reviewed topics on its meeting’s agenda as follows:
First – Approval of the draft decision of the Minister of Finance to establish a customs department in the general warehouse (Milaha Logistics City).
Second – Approval of:
1 – A draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and East Timor.
2 – A draft agreement between the governments of Qatar and Cote d’Ivoire on avoiding double taxation and preventing financial evasion in relation to income taxes.
3 – A draft memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of climate change and environmental protection between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in Qatar and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests in Romania.
4 – A draft memorandum of understanding in the field of enhancing corruption prevention between the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority in Qatar and French Anti-Corruption Agency.
The Cabinet then reviewed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No 32 of 1995 regarding the prohibition of damage to plant environment and its components, and taking the appropriate decision thereon.
The Cabinet discussed the main logistical and industrial projects for the Economic Zones Company (Manateq) and the Council instructed the relevant authorities to develop the necessary plans to provide the needs based on a study of supply and demand for lands.
