HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, who is also Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, visited Hamad International Airport on Wednesday and directed the officials concerned to quickly implement the required measures for the health and safety of citizens and residents.
The Prime Minister's visit and subsequent directives came after several observations were made regarding the completion of procedures for receiving citizens and residents returning to the country, including the procedures for transferring them to quarantine to protect them from the novel coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The Prime Minister directed the officials and the competent authorities in the state to quickly implement the required measures for the health and safety of citizens and residents, especially overcoming the problems and challenges of organisation that occurred during the past two days.
HE Sheikh Khalid also urged citizens to co-operate with the competent authorities in order to take precautionary health measures for their health and safety, stressing that limiting the spread of this epidemic is the responsibility of all.
He was accompanied by a number of senior officials of the ministries of transport and communications, public health and interior, as well as Qatar Airways and various related authorities.
