The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is actively engaged in maintaining the parks that remain closed after the preventive and precautionary measures against Covid-19 came into effect in the country.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah, quoting a source within the MME, reported that regular maintenance works are carried out at 98 parks where employees are deployed. The works include daily caring of the plants, watering and irrigation.
In order to ensure proper protection from the Covid-19 virus, the workers at parks have been given protective clothing including gloves and masks. The parks are also regularly sprayed with disinfectants.
The source added that works by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) are progressing at various parts of the country to set up new generation parks with the latest specifications. These parks, to be run by the MME, are expected to have many unique features.
