The Air Cargo Customs has arrested a passenger at Hamad International Airport (HIA) with 'Shabu', a banned drug used in some parts of Asia. This was informed by the General Authority of Customs (GAC) through its social media accounts.
The passenger was taken into custody after the substance was found to be hidden inside his clothes. It weighed around 14gm.
One person was arrested with banned drugs on October 15 while banned narcotic substances weighing 1,500 kg were seized on October 8. These substances were found to be hidden inside the consignments of hair care products.
The customs seized 27kg 'tambaku' in September and they were found hidden inside a consignment of various foodstuffs.
In September second week, the Air Cargo Customs officials seized 34,990 banned Captagon pills that were being smuggled to Qatar concealed in a consignment of small tables. In July, officials foiled attempts to smuggle four packs of crystal meth (Methamphetamine) weighing 734gm. The seizure was effected by the Cargo customs at HIA.
