His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Qatar University (QU), on Monday presided over the second meeting of the board for the academic year (2020/2021), which was held via video conference.
The board reviewed implementation of its decisions and recommendations taken during the first meeting of the 2020/2021 academic year.
The board then discussed the topics listed on its agenda and took the appropriate decisions thereon, including the approval of the establishment of a number of master's programmes, namely the master's of health professional education and executive master's in sports management programmes, while at the bachelor's level, the board approved the revitalisation of the Bachelor of Science in Physics programme at the College of Arts and Sciences.
The board also approved the establishment of a bachelor's programme in Mechatronics at the College of Engineering, in addition to the establishment of a sub-specialisation in engineering project management and a sub-specialisation in cybersecurity for students of the College of Engineering.
