Individual category: This award will be presented to an individual who has developed an initiative concerned with traffic safety and has actively contributed to improving traffic safety in Qatar.
Category of public and private institutions: For prominent organisations that have undertaken initiatives to reduce traffic accidents and have contributed to raising the level of traffic safety in Qatar.
Educational Institutions: This includes kindergartens, schools, institutes, colleges and universities which engaged in projects, initiatives, research and scientific, intellectual and technical innovations in traffic safety.
Regarding the category of individuals, the person must be a citizen or resident of Qatar and the submitted works must be innovative and clearly explained, and the idea should not have been previously proposed. One or more ideas can be submitted and if one of them wins, the rest of the posts are excluded. The idea must be original to its owner and unprecedented and has not been tried anywhere in the world. The presented idea must have contributed to a remarkable development or addressed a problem in the field of traffic safety. And it should not be presented in any other competition inside and outside Qatar. The participants have to provide a video presentation on the initiative, provided that it must be within a maximum of 5 minutes and a minimum of three minutes.
Regarding the category of institutions, the institution must be in Qatar. Government agencies and institutions concerned with traffic safety in the public and private sector are entitled to participate in the award. The works must be submitted by the participants themselves and presenting more than one idea is acceptable. And if one of them wins, the rest of the entries are excluded. The project owners must state the size of the allocated budget and their sources of funding, and the participants must submit a video presentation about the initiative, provided that it does not exceed a maximum of 5 minutes and a minimum of three minutes.
Regarding the educational institutions category, NTSC has prepared a detailed guidebook that includes the conditions and criteria for participation for each category of the competition for traffic safety education in Qatar in addition to the participation forms for each category. The brochure is available via the link road safety.qa. An award ceremony will be organised for the winners during the World Traffic Safety Conference 2021 in Qatar.
