Any solution for the Gulf crisis should respect the security, independence and sovereignty of each GCC country and consider the security and welfare of their people, HE the Assistant Foreign Minister and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lolwah AlKhater has said.
Speaking to Al Jazeera News Channel in a telephone interview on Friday she stressed that the statement from the brotherly country of Kuwait has "put us on the first step of the road to resolve (the crisis) and it is an important and positive step.
"The discussions throughout the past period were intended to try to put in place a general framework for talks and reconciliation. We are looking forward to complete them in the upcoming period so as to arrive at an end for this crisis.
"Such discussions should continue with good and sincere intentions on the basis of mutual respect while upholding the security and sovereignty of each country and adopting a constructive and positive approach in a way that puts the interests of the GCC people on the top," AlKhater added.
