Doha Municipality’s Health Control Section carried out 2,635 regular inspection tours in December last year on various food outlets and organisations across Doha, it was announced yesterday.
The campaign resulted in shutting five food outlets, and issuing 100 violation reports according to law no 8 for 1990 on the regulation of human food control. In addition, 27 food samples were sent to the central labs. The veterinarian team examined 50,970kg fish at the different fish markets and destroyed 90kg for being unsuitable for human consumption. The section also received and processed 59 related complaints within the same period.
