The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has announced single lane traffic closure on both directions of Jasim Bin Hamad street along 1,400 m from Al Markhiya Intersection up to Dahl Al Hamam Intersection and a full closure of the access to and from Umm Al Oshush Street from Friday (January 22) for seven months.
In addition, some local entries and exits located along Jasim Bin Hamad street will be temporarily closed. The diversion in coordination with the General Directorate of Traffic is to upgrade the surface and groundwater network on Jasim Bin Hamad street as part of FIFA Readiness Project 6.
During the closure, two lanes will remain open to traffic in both directions. Commuters who want to access Jasim Bin Hamad street via Al Jassasiya Street and Al Kharasa Street can reach their destination by using Al Daayen Street while commuters who want to access Jasim Bin Hamad street via Umm Al Oshush Street and Al Yoosifiya Street can reach their destination by using Wasit Street.
In addition to that, commuters exiting from Jasim Bin Hamad street towards Al Daayen Street can reach their destination by using Al Jassasiya and commuters exiting from Jasim Bin Hamad street towards Umm Al Oshush Street can reach their destination by using Khalifa Street as shown on the map.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the temporary closure and urged all to follow them and abide by the speed limit to ensure safety.
