HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issued today an Amiri Decree appointing HH Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister.

The Amiri decree included mandating the Prime Minister to nominate the members of the new cabinet and presenting their names to the Amir of Kuwait to issue a decree of their appointment. It also stipulated that the matter be communicated to the National Assembly and that it be implemented from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.

The Kuwaiti government submitted its resignation on January 12th.
