Qatar Airways is delighted to be the Official Airline Sponsor of the His Highness The Amir Sword Festival 2021 and support this prestigious event which promotes Qatar as a world hub for horse racing.

The three-day event will take place starting Thursday and conclude on Saturday at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) and will bring together some of the world’s best horses, both pure Arabians and Thoroughbreds. The top-class participants will present spectacular performances and thrilling races while competing for the coveted His Highness The Amir Sword and His Highness The Amir Trophy.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar al-Baker said, “Qatar Airways is proud to sponsor the His Highness The Amir’s Sword Festival, a significant event on the global horse racing calendar, and pleased to showcase worldwide our country’s equestrian heritage and culture. As an airline, we have a long tradition of supporting major global sporting events reflecting our firm belief in the unifying power of sport and the pivotal role it plays in bringing people together.

In 2019, Qatar Airways renewed its partnership with the QREC for a further three years. The partnership enabled the airline to continue its sponsorship of international prestigious horse racing events, including Qatar Goodwood Festival in the United Kingdom and the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in France.

Qatar Airways currently operates more than 800 weekly flights to over 120 destinations across the globe. By the end of March 2021, Qatar Airways plans to rebuild its network to over 130 destinations with many cities to be served with a strong schedule of daily or more frequencies.
