Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has awarded more than 200 winners with cash prizes to date in the fourth edition of its innovative Misk Savings Account Programme.
The Misk account is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to promote positive financial habits and to encourage individuals to save money.
The latest edition started in November 2020 and will run for 52 weeks until end of October 2021, where QIB has increased both the total number of winners to 805 and total prizes to QR10mn, due to the increasing popularity of Misk accounts.
Weekly winners, who are rewarded QR10,000 each, has been increased to 15 winners each week, and every month, two lucky winners will receive QR50,000 each. The grand prize draw for QR1mn will take place in November 2021.
Misk has witnessed three previous successful editions, awarding a total of 890 loyal QIB customers, where three winners receiving QR1mn each.
Existing and new QIB customers interested in opening a Misk account can do so from anywhere, at any time, simply by using the award-winning QIB mobile App. The Misk account is an innovative savings account that encourages savings by rewarding positive financial habits and offering cash prizes. They can subsequently start by using the App to manage all their day-to-day banking needs, remotely, having access to more than 100 features and services.
Upon opening the account, customers will receive a free debit card, e-statement service, and can request a free credit card for the first year backed by the balance in their Misk account.
All Qatari citizens and residents are eligible to open an innovative Misk savings account for themselves or their children. Customers must maintain a minimum monthly balance of QR10,000 to be eligible for the weekly and monthly draws.
To qualify for the grand prize draw, the customer must open the account three months prior to the draw and maintain a minimum of QR10,000 for each of those months. Every additional QR10,000 added to the savings account earns the customer one more chance in the draw.
Customers interested in opening a Misk account can download the QIB mobile App and through the use of digital identification technology, scan the required documents, including Qatari ID and passport in the case of expatriates, take a selfie and fill in a few remaining personal data.
To facilitate a seamless experience, QIB has also introduced a ‘live chat’ feature that allows customers to directly get in touch with a QIB customer service representative if they have any queries or need further support at any time during the process.
The QIB mobile App, rated 4.7+ on Play Store and App Store, has undergone an immense transformation over the years to keep up with the hyper-connectivity and online requirements of the customer.
