While Covid-19 restrictions are currently in place, the app can virtually take visitors to a number of destinations such as theme parks, hotels and resorts, museums, heritage sites, cultural centers, and art galleries, among others, with its 360-degree feature.
These include the Venice-inspired The Pearl-Qatar, Angry Birds World theme park at Doha Festival City, Hilton Salwa Beach Resort and Villas, Doha Golf Club, the National Museum of Qatar, Museum of Islamic Art, Al Zubarah Fort, Purple Island, Desert Falls Water and Adventure Park, Katara – the Cultural Village, Mondrian Doha, Msheireb Downtown Doha, Inland Sea, Banana Island Resort Doha, The Doha Corniche, and Souq Waqif.
Apart from 360-degree feature, the app also provides several other information about the destinations such as their profile, attractions, directions, operating time, and contact details.
Users can also check the “Must-Do-Activities” on the app such as shopping, wellness, food and drink, art and culture, adventure, and family fun, suggesting some of the best destinations to visit.
For adventure as an example, the app suggests Al Thakira and Purple Island, a serene location beyond Al Khor known for its mangroves and lush greenery; Inland Sea or Khor Al Adaid, an “extraordinary landscape with sand dunes and sea beds “in south-easthern side of Qatar; and Ras Abrouq rock formations at Qatar’s west coast near Zekreet, “a visually arresting area with a haunting landscape of limestone rock formations sculpted into mushroom shapes by the wind”, among others.
For Family fun, the app features Perceval (a bronze of a life-size shire horse by Sara Lucas) at Aspire Park, Dahl Al Misfir, which is “considered the largest and deepest, yet accessible cave in Qatar located west of Doha.” Other suggestions include Shay Al Shamoos, AL Zubarah Fort, Three Sixty – The Torch, Cosmos, Enchanted East, and Museum of Illusions.
The app also showcases the Hamad International Airport and FIFA World Cup 2022 stadiums, in addition to a number of malls and public art in the country such as ‘7’ by renowned American artist Richard Serra’s and Al Riwaq Gallery – both located at MIA Park; Flying Man by Dia al-Azzawi at HIA; and Cosmos (also at HIA) by internationally acclaimed contemporary French artist Jean-Michel Othoniel.
